Layer of Protection Analysis
We use a modified Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) to evaluate risk. We modify the risk tolerance tables, the consequence evaluation grid and the event frequencies to match our clients' tolerance, vulnerability and operating/maintenance discipline. We have expanded the LOPA tables to include combustible dust consequence grid so that we can meet our clients' requirements to evaluate combustible dust events. This is particularly important in the food process industries and in light of OSHA's National Emphasis Program.
